May 4, 2012 Traxx – Horizon
We’ve got another one from Traxx this week. ”Horizon” is one of his most danceable songs to date. The drums are upbeat and the constantly fluctuating synths spread the good vibes. But it wouldn’t be a Traxx song without those signature 80s-esque guitar licks/solos, which are found all over this song. It’s the weekend over here in the states, and if you’re looking for a song you can groove to tonight, look no further.

March 3, 2012 Traxx – Time
Well it looks like our friend Traxx is at it again. As of March 2nd, Traxx released his first official EP, Time. Clocking in at under 15 minutes, this three song EP is short, sweet and to the point. But that’s not to say that Thomas Gallicani didn’t have fun with this one. The songs still have that same blend of danceable 80s rock with modern chillwave that always gets this blogger thinking of long summer days on the beach. The EP opens with the song fittingly titled “Sun,” which leans more towards pop than some of Traxx’s other stuff. Then comes “Sidera,” where Traxx finds himself back to his usual tricks again with washed out guitar solos and a tight drum beat that’s definitely gonna get your toes tapping. He also throws a few twists on this song by adding in some bongos and vocal samples. Finally, the EP closes with an old favorite, “Yesterdays.” Traxx may have been off the radar for a while, but it looks like it was with good cause. Gallicani’s Time EP is an impressive self-produced debut and I can’t wait to hear what more Traxx has in store. You can check it out for free on his soundcloud and I’ve put the songs below as well.

November 8, 2011 Traxx – The Exclusive Tour De Vaap Interview (Explicit)
Traxx, the self-produced chillwave artist from France recently released a new song “Discovery” on his soundcloud. Filled with dramatic build ups and his usual 80s style synth and guitar parts, “Discovery” is another classic tune. Traxx recently allowed me to do an exclusive interview with him for Tour De Vaap where we discussed his forthcoming EP, his life and defining his music. Check it out after the break and listen to his new track “Discovery” on his soundcloud page (see 2:30 for one of the most epic guitar solos I’ve heard in a long time).

October 5, 2011 Traxx – Yesterdays
I recently stumbled upon this instrumental by a band called Traxx, supposedly a one man band from Paris. The sole member, Thomas Gallicani, did some amazing work here, creating a summery song that takes elements of chillwave and some late ’80s rock and combines them into the best instrumental jam I’ve heard in a long time. It must be that combination of flange guitar, synthesizer and those echoing hand claps, not to mention a solid guitar solo in the middle of the song. If anyone finds out more about this artist, please let me know because I need more “Yesterdays” in my life.
