April 8, 2011 Hella – City Folk Sitting, Sitting

Sargeant House is now privileged with unveiling math rock’s new face . Since their last release , Hella has struggled with the popularity of their drummer, who applies an energy comparable to that of nuclear fission, and has thus made the years following their last album unproductive. Leading to this release, however, Hella has left the math rock community with a fractured picture of how their new sound will blend, as Zach Hill continues to bang his hides with Bygones , and Spencer Seim with Amaranth . But until then, we will sit, like City Folk. Sitting, sitting. – J. Brookes
