August 12, 2012 Lavender Diamond – Everybody’s Heart’s Breaking Now
In September, Lavender Diamond is going to release their second full-length. But something’s a little different about this upcoming album. It’s not the same happy-go-lucky pop folk (not that there’s anything wrong with that) that made up most of the last album. The second single, “Everybody’s Heart’s Breaking Now” finds itself in a different category entirely. Sure, it starts with a simple electric piano that could fit into any Carpenter’s song. But it quickly evolves into much more than that. Soon after the song begins, Becky Stark and the piano are soon overwhelmed by echoing drums and a robust booming piano and the song is transformed from a simple love song into a shattering ballad of heartbreak. In a word, it’s powerful. The album’s out in about a month, but until then listen below.
