May 13, 2012 Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros – Man on Fire
“I want the whole damn world to come dance with me.”
So it turns out that the “storm a brewin’” was a new Edward Sharpe album, set for release on the 29th. You can go to this site to find out more, it’s full of interesting/odd little video clips and sound bites from the upcoming release. Above is their tuesday night performance on Letterman, featuring the new very catchy, very upbeat song, “Man On Fire.” Alex is decked out in draped shirt and big hat, surrounded by the large band that just radiates love and joy. Aside from this amazing taste of the new album, the video is actually pretty funny. Alex tries to get the audience to dance only to find no willing volunteers and David Letterman refers to him as “Edward.” Well, come May 29th, I’ll dance with you. Check out the tour dates after the break

April 25, 2011 Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros – Home (RAC mix)
Classes end in a week and naturally, our anticipation to travel home is steadily growing. This song seems to capture the combination of nostalgia and excitement that accompanies the end of our Freshman year by taking the ever familiar track “Home” by Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros, and revamping it in a way that makes you want to get up and dance. By utilizing a hypnotic beat, melodious piano and clever manipulation of the original track, this RAC mix provides ample reason to revisit the beloved modern classic that put Edward Sharpe on the map.
