December 6, 2011 Air – Seven Stars
“How long did it take you, to reach the stars?”
The French Electronic duo Air are preparing to release a new album, Le Voyage Dans La Lune and today, they released the first single off the album called “Seven Stars.” This ethereal song features vocals from the talented Victoria Legrand, one half of the stunning dream pop duo Beach House. Her long, drawn out vocal part is perfect for this song, acting as a celestial guide through this spacey song and creating a continual soothing atmosphere. And the music is fantastic voyage by itself, starting with a driving drumbeat accompanied most strongly by piano as it propels the listener forward, preparing them for takeoff. This song does what few can by creating a physical picture out of the music to accompany the singer’s tale, in this case as, a trip to space. Listen below to see what I mean.
