August 10, 2012 Saint Motel – 1997
Here’s another one from the Led Astray Music Label. It’s a great video and, more importantly a great band. The LA band Saint Motel make some snappy indie pop that’s bound to put you in a good mood. After playing with the likes of Kid Cudi and Neon Trees, Saint Motel have released a debut album of their own called Voyeur. It’s a tight album all around with some of the most infectious pop-rock of the summer. Above, you’ll find a taste of the album called “1997.” The band member (A/J Jackson) directed video takes place in the dark and sinister Dresdon. The band members hear the tune from the famous lounge singers Marty and Elayne and quickly ascend to the astral plane. It’s an odd/fantastic video in itself, but the jangly piano and falsetto chorus don’t hurt either. If you like what you see, or hear, be sure to check them out on their website or hear some of the album here.
