Tour De Vaap

Here’s someone in the vein of James Blake for that rainy day/dark night.  In the single, “White Chalk,” Halls sings over sparse and gentle piano as other sounds quietly sneak into the woodwork (some slow hip-hop style drums for example).  What really makes the song unique is the choir that Halls (Sam Howard) uses throughout the song.  They don’t sing much, but they’re damn consistent, breaking the silence with repetitive harmonies like the ocean water breaking on a long empty beach.  Check out the single below or some more song on his bandcamp and be sure to check out his LP Ark coming out October 15th.
