01/08/12 Washed Out – A Dedication [Music Video]
Last summer was the Summer of Chillwave and with it came many great artists. But the artist that stuck out most was Washed Out, who debuted his first full length album last July. And, from this artist came one of my favorite songs of the summer “A Dedication.” It struck me because it somehow managed to take chillwave and strip away all the drones, bleached synths and trippy vocals and do it’s own thing. The result was a beautiful track and a fitting closure to Within and Without. And now, we have one of the best videos of the summer to go with it. The official music video, directed by Yoonha Park, features cozy cabins, swimming in a calm evening lake and cute cats. Not to mention Greene appearing at various times to play the melody out on various pianos. The video is stunning and made for warm summer nights. Check it out above
